Women’s Health Unwrapped
Episode 118:
Overcoming guilt and making time for exercise
Do you struggle to fit in exercise?
“Guilt is one of the reasons that I think women put off exercising and moving their body because they think there's other stuff that I should be doing. And often it does come down to stuff with the kids and the household chores. We've got this extra weight on our shoulders as women that is holding us back from being able to fit in on top of everything else, exercising.”
— Nicola Farndell
“People think it’s all about dieting, that they need to get to the smallest number, to a size eight, and that's the end of it. But it's not. The important thing for me is you need to be strong. You need to be healthy. We need to be strong, especially as we're getting older.”

In this episode of Women’s Health Unwrapped:
Are you telling yourself there’s never enough time to exercise? Not having time to go to the gym or get in a run is a common problem many women have when they think about wanting to improve their fitness. Doing it all and doing stuff for everybody else is much more important than you taking time for yourself to workout.
I’m joined by Lucy-Anne Carney who is sharing her personal story of transformation from a demanding corporate career to becoming a bodybuilder, and what it taught her about having a clear goal and prioritising making it happen. Lucy now uses what she learned to help other women balance motherhood and their wellbeing through regular exercise.
The conversation explores the societal pressures and responsibilities that hold women back from prioritising their own health and wellbeing, and offers tips on building habits and overcoming guilt. Lucy encourages you to prioritise movement for your future self and your children, and to do so by building healthy habits that are sustainable in the long term.
