Women’s Health Unwrapped
Episode 133:
Empowering women through storytelling
Your story might be the light that someone else needs to show them which path to take to improve their health and happiness.
“One of the biggest problems I see is that people are chasing a short-term fix, without looking at the bigger picture of what health really means. I want women to understand that what you eat, how you sleep, how you manage stress, the people you surround yourself with—all of that contributes to your health and happiness. And that’s worth investing in.”
— Nicola Farndell
“We’re chasing these quick fixes without understanding the long-term cost. These drugs weren’t designed for aesthetic weight loss—they were for diabetes and obesity. When used incorrectly, they can disrupt menstrual cycles, fertility, thyroid health, and even increase the risk of cancers. We have to start asking what the real price of thinness is.”
— Kat Moody
In this episode of Women’s Health Unwrapped:
What expectations do you place upon yourself – and what’s the cost of pursuing them?
In this episode of Women’s Health Unwrapped, I’m joined by Kat Moody – a solicitor, speaker and passionate advocate for women’s mental health. Together, we explore Kat’s deeply personal story of empowerment, growth and self-discovery, and the impact of chasing success without stopping to reflect on what it’s costing you.
Kat opens up about growing up in poverty, entering foster care, and the relentless determination that fuelled her 14-year journey to qualify as a solicitor. But behind the drive to succeed was an overwhelming pressure to prove herself – leading to anxiety, disordered eating and burnout.
This is a conversation about what happens when we pause, reflect, and finally allow ourselves to ask for help. It’s about letting go of perfection, embracing vulnerability, and learning to value yourself as a work in progress.
The key highlights from our conversation are:
Why self-reflection is essential for true personal growth.
How childhood experiences shape self-perception and drive.
The mental health cost of people-pleasing and perfectionism.
What happens when we stop numbing and start breathing.
The power of therapy and supportive relationships.
Why small wins matter to reinforce self-worth.
Why health is not a finish line – but a lifelong journey of connection with yourself.
How Kat’s three daily practices are helping her live with more balance and authenticity.
