Investing in Your Health:
Why proactivity is key to living your best life
Watch.
Is it really that important to invest in your health before something goes wrong?
Is being healthy really going to help your life to be better than it is right now?
“If you look at people who live a pretty healthy lifestyle and are in good health and have good strong wellbeing, they’re not forcing themselves to live in a way that makes them have that result, it becomes a part of who you are. ”
— Nicola Mercer
“Prevention is so much better than treating things once they’ve already happened. If we can avoid problems from arising in the first place, that’s so much better than waiting until something happens and then dealing with it then.”
—Dr Kim Foster
In today’s episode MD turned entrepreneur Dr Kim Foster is sharing her experience of working in the Canadian healthcare system as a family doctor for over twenty years and the challenges of reactive health care. Dr Kim is a huge advocate for proactive health and offers so much on why we should be building a culture of healthy living at the heart of our families, communities and who we are, to help us all feel well and love the life we live.
Taking better care of yourself before you face a challenge with your health that means you have no other option than to take action is so vital, especially when we’re all living such fast paced lives and want to achieve so much from the one life we each have.
In this episode we chat about:
The challenges with the reactive health care approach taken by the health care systems in most countries around the world.
Why so many people struggle to do anything other than put a fix over their health issues.
The importance of being proactive with your health.
Whether women really can have it ‘all’ and why they believe this is the answer for success.
The common problems we see most women wanting to change in their lives.
How a coach is able to get better clarity of what women really want to change in how they feel about themselves.
Finding balance and acceptance for the season of your life you’re currently in.
Acceptance that being healthy isn’t about being perfect or having to do it the way the media portrays healthy living.
How to get started with small steps to building stronger health.
