LIVE HEALTHY NOW - Episode 34

Creating a blueprint for a healthy balance

Watch.

Is it really possible for women to have it all? What even is ‘it all’?

These are just some of the questions we’re exploring in today’s episode with our guest May James.

“You’re always going to have to take stock of where you are and because of where you are, what’s impacting you and what you need. I wanted to have you on as a guest because you’re doing exactly that. You’re at a place where you have intentionally put your habits and routines in a place to match what you need for the life you want to live. ”

“I find the word self care quite difficult because I understand the concept and why we need to do it but I think what qualifies as self care has gotten really blurred over the years.”

May runs two businesses and has had huge success in the accolades she has been awarded and in supporting other female entrepreneurs to build and scale thriving global businesses. All of which she has accomplished whilst managing her chronic illness and living her life on purpose.

May is passionate about helping women to create a business that works for them by being honest about how she balances her business with living a great life. Her openness and vulnerability are strengths that will help others to reflect on their own life to consider what might support them to feel better and get clear on their own values.

In our conversation we talk about:

  • The blueprint May used to design her life and business.

  • The different habits May has gradually built to enable her to manage her chronic illness.

  • Whether women really can have it all.

  • How a culture of comparing yourself to what you deem normal and success is crippling so many women.

  • Why women need to be more open about the way they feel and the things they do to support them in their life.

  • The different seasons we go through in our lives and the importance of being aware of these to know what you need.

  • Why self-care is being given a bad name and what caring for yourself actually looks like.

  • How people view coaching and therapy and making changes to help them feel better.
