“Sex isn't intimacy. It's like this word sex and these words, sex and intimacy have been conflated to mean the same thing. And actually, we can have sexual intimacy, we can have sex without intimacy. Intimacy is about closeness, it's about vulnerability, it's about honesty, all of these qualities, which often we're taught not to do in sex, we're taught to perform and be a certain way. And so it can be a whole new journey to open up to be intimate.”
