Episode 99:

Why menopause doesn't have to feel like the end of the road

Hitting menopause can feel like the end of the road, but I want you to know that it's not the end of the road, but a crossroad, where you get to choose which direction you take your life in.

“Yes, there are real challenges that can come with menopause and things that for some women can be quite debilitating that do need to be navigated and dealt with and get the right support for, but it's also a really powerful turning point. I want you to know that menopause is not the end of your life, it's not the beginning of the end. It also doesn't have to feel like it's the beginning of a decline into old age. Think about it as the start of something new.”

Are you viewing menopause as the beginning of the end of your life? Does it feel like it’s all doom and gloom?

Many women have been raised believing that menopause is a negative life experience and one that’s going to change them in ways that create fear, negativity and apprehension. I want to challenge this negative narrative around menopause and inspire you to know that it is not the end of life, but rather a new beginning.

The midlife crossroads that women see as being the beginning of it all going downhill can instead be a time to understand who you are and what matters to you - perhaps for the very first time - and to create your own new path to health and happiness.

Today I’m sharing with you:

  • The realities of what menopause can lead to for some women.

  • How important it is to acknowledge the changes menopause can bring and the challenges these can lead to for many women.

  • Why it’s time to reframe menopause not as the end of life, but a new beginning and an opportunity for transformation.

  • Why the negative narrative around menopause that is influenced by societal beliefs and statistics doesn’t have to define your experience.

  • The power of shifting your mindset and reframing menopause as a time of renewal and rebirth to empower you to make positive changes.

  • Practicing gratitude, using affirmations, and journaling can help in navigating menopause and creating a fulfilling second half of life.

  • Taking small steps to build the life you want for yourself in your second half.
